This New Year's there's an amazing trip-of-a-lifetime that lets you to ring in 2010 not once, but twice.
This new year's eve holiday begins on Boxing Day where you'll fly to Auckland and arrive at the hotel of your choice (the Westin Auckland Lighter Quay is an amazing bolthole). Keep yourself busy buy visiting their amazing spa, or explore the city's sites, taking in traditional Maori performances and beautiful gardens (perfect for afternoon picnics).
After the revelry of your sparkling city celebrations, you've got time for a few hours of rest (remember that Heavenly Bed') before your time travel trip to Aitutaki Island . Leave Auckland on January 1, 2010, and by the time you get to the island, it will be December 31, 2009. Pretty neat huh?
Arrive at the gorgeous Pacific Resort Aitutaki where bungalows are a few steps away from the turquoise waters of the island's famous lagoon. You can enjoy an amazing meal at the restaurant (try fresh seafood with a Pacific Rim twist) before it's new years all over again.
This time, instead of city skyscrapers and crowded streets, it's tall palm trees and pure white sand. Now that you're in 2010 (again), spend a few days relaxing on the island. Try out some water sports, and be sure to spend some time in the fantastic spa getting a massage or a facial, or both. Then it's back home to tell all your friends about your blockbuster new years.
Who said time travel was impossible?
